ZOMBIE POPE

When the Cardinals of the Catholic Church congregate in Vatican City to sequester for the process of choosing a new Pope, they close themselves off from the outside world. Weeks later, upon throwing open the doors to announce their selection, they find that a zombie apocalypse has brought society to its knees. It falls to them to end the disaster by tracking down and killing Patient Zero, the first zombie, who just so happens to be the recently deceased Pope. In this madcap action comedy, one of the Cardinals must grapple with the fact that his actions may have caused all this and wonder how he could ever possibly make it right. ZOMBIE POPE is a hilarious and heartfelt examination of atonement, blame and zombie guts.

Chicken Truck

A coming-of-age-maybe-too-late story about a young man who takes the scenic route to learning the difference between solving problems and running away from them. Tucker, a mid-twenties post-college underachiever, flees his hometown to join his estranged uncle on a whirlwind tour of the American south in a novelty chicken-drumstick-shaped food truck. Along with his uncle’s helper, Brian, the men travel to fairs, festivals and sporting events to sling fried chicken. When deeply personal revelations call into question both Tucker’s motivations for joining up and his uncle’s reasons for starting the food truck in the first place, Tucker is forced to make a decision: dive further into denial and avoidance or return to his hometown to face the responsibilities he left behind, even though it may already be too late to make things right. Chicken Truck is a meditation on the painful, often reluctantly faced, process of growing the hell up.

HEADLINES! A Tale of American Sensationalism

Briles Kilbourn is a nobody. Until, that is, he is wrongfully arrested for the murder of two people and his court case becomes a national sensation. When a sleezy, fame chasing lawyer, Giordano Capricorn, takes up his defense and gets Briles off on a technicality, Briles becomes the most notorious and hated man in America. Through the resulting frenzy of interview requests, book deals, movie offers and flings with gorgeous movie stars, Briles wants nothing more than to return to his quiet life of cubicle-dwelling middle management, but it is too late. He is swept up in the unceasing mechanisms of manufacturing stardom and the genie can’t be put back in the bottle. Eventually, Briles gives in to the sad fact that life as a famously despicable murderer in America is much better than life as a hard-working, respectable citizen. Filled with zany, over-the-top humor in the vein of Airplane! and The Naked Gun, HEADLINES! is a hilarious and scathing takedown of modern American fame culture.
